This project supports teen mothers and fathers transitioning to parenthood while continuing enrollment in school.
Pregnant and Teen parents must balance pursuing their high school diploma with their new role as parents. This transition is often plagued with financial challenges, judgementalism, alienation, stereotypes, social-emotional deficits, and medical requirements/support. Earnest Heart works with school social workers and counselors to identify teen mothers and fathers in need of academic or social-emotional support. The foundation assists young parents through mentoring, advocacy, and donated or purchased items essential to the parent and the baby’s future. We work with schools to help mitigate food shortages and mentor Pregnant and Parenting Teens by providing them with resources such as finding childcare, obtaining support groups, financial planning, career and college readiness, and giving birth to a healthy child(ren).
